Interested Partners
- Indian Oil Corporation (IOC): Already has a joint venture with NPCIL and Neyveli Lignite Corporation.
- Indian Railways: Shown interest in joining the nuclear power development initiatives.
NPCIL Chairman, Bhuwan Chandra Pathak, emphasized the importance of state partnerships, highlighting that minor stakes held by states can provide essential support for the projects.

- 50 GW Target by 2047:
- 30 GW from pressurised heavy water reactors.
- 24 GW based on light water reactor technology.
- 22 GW Target by 2031-32:
- Three reactors operationalized.
- Seventeen under various stages of implementation.
Recent Achievements and Future Plans
- Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP) Unit 7: Recently connected to the grid, marking a significant milestone.
- RAPP Unit 8: Expected commissioning within the financial year.
- Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plants: Four units under construction, total capacity of 4,000 MW, with progressive commissioning starting next year.
