India-Singapore Bilateral Relations
The Prime Ministers of India and Singapore have set a forward-looking roadmap to enhance their bilateral relations, focusing on eight key areas: economy, skills development, digitalisation, sustainability, connectivity, healthcare, cultural exchanges, and defence and security.
Key Areas of Cooperation
- Economy: Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement and ASEAN FTA to be reviewed for trade boost.
- Skills Development: Establishment of a National Centre of Excellence for Skilling in Chennai in advanced manufacturing.
- Digitalisation: Collaboration in AI, quantum computing, and digital technologies. Expansion of UPI and Pay Now initiatives with 13 new Indian banks joining.
- Sustainability: Agreement on Green & Digital Shipping Corridors to enhance supply chain of green fuels.
- Connectivity: Singapore's involvement in developing Indian port infrastructure, including the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Phase-2.
- Healthcare: Development of AI-driven solutions in healthcare sectors.
- Cultural Exchanges: Emphasis on people-to-people and cultural interactions.
- Defence and Security: Enhanced cooperation in quantum computing, AI, and maritime security.

- Semiconductor Industry: Support through the India-Singapore Semiconductor Policy Dialogue and enhancing supply chains.
- Aerospace and Aviation: Ecosystem collaboration in Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sectors.
- Space Cooperation: New agreements marking enhanced cooperation in space science.
Counter-Terrorism and Legal Cooperation
The countries reaffirmed their commitment to combat terrorism, including cross-border threats, and agreed to strengthen cooperation against global and regional terrorism through bilateral mechanisms and multilateral platforms.
Infrastructure and Technological Innovations
Emphasis was placed on technology and innovation as cornerstones of the partnership, exploring critical and emerging technologies to promote inclusive and sustainable growth.
