Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025

The Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025 ranks the innovation performance of nearly 140 economies based on about 80 indicators such as R&D spending, venture capital deals, high-tech exports, and intellectual property filings.

India's Performance

  • India has significantly improved its position to 38th place among 139 economies in the GII 2025.
  • This is a substantial advancement from its 81st position in 2015.

Top Performers

  • Switzerland ranks at the top of the GII 2025 list.
