Government Expenditure on Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)
The government has sanctioned a financial outlay for enhancing the number of LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the current fiscal year.
Approval Details
- The total approved expenditure is ₹676 crore.
- This budget will facilitate the release of 2.5 million additional LPG connections.
Breakdown of Expenditure
- Funds amounting to ₹512.5 crore are allocated for providing deposit-free connections at a rate of ₹2,050 per connection.
- An additional ₹160 crore is designated for a targeted subsidy of ₹300 per 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder.
Progress as of July 2025
- To date, over 103.3 million LPG connections have been successfully distributed under the scheme.
