Census Process and Confidentiality
- The Census data is kept confidential as per the Census Act 1948, ensuring only aggregate data is released.
- Self-enumeration will be available April 1-15 in certain regions, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Delhi Cantonment.
- The first phase, House Listing Operations, runs from April 1 to September 30, with population enumeration in February 2027.
- Special provisions for snow-bound areas to complete both phases by September 30 this year.
Technological Advancements and Data Security
- Increased digital literacy supports the use of mobile phones and laptops for self-enumeration.

- West Bengal is the only state yet to notify the Census process, with a deadline of September 30 for completion.
