- It introduces a comprehensive Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework for Scrap of Non-Ferrous Metals (including aluminum, copper and zinc and its alloys).
About EPR for Scrap of Non-Ferrous Metals
- Targets: Every producer shall be responsible for the recycling target structure, which progressively increases from 10% in 2026-2027 to 75% by 2032-2033.
- Central Pollution Control Board: Shall generate an EPR certificate through the portal.
- Validity of the EPR certificate: Shall be two years from the end of the financial year in which it was generated
