Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) Approvals
The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister, has approved capital acquisition proposals worth approximately ₹79,000 crore for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Indian Army Acquisitions
- Loiter Munition Systems: Enables precision strikes against tactical targets.
- Low Level Light Weight Radars: Enhances detection and tracking of small, low-flying unmanned aerial systems.
- Long Range Guided Rocket Ammunition for Pinaka MRLS: Improves range and accuracy for engaging high-value targets.
- Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System (IDD&IS) Mk-II: With enhanced range, it strengthens protection of vital assets in tactical and hinterland areas.
Indian Navy Acquisitions
- Bollard Pull (BP) Tugs: Assists naval ships and submarines during berthing, unberthing, and manoeuvring in harbours.
- High Frequency Software Defined Radio (HF SDR) Manpack systems: Enhances long-range secure communications.
- High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS): Provides intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, enhancing maritime domain awareness in the Indian Ocean Region.
Indian Air Force Acquisitions
- Automatic Take-off and Landing Recording System: Enhances aerospace safety with high-definition, all-weather recording.
- Astra Mk-II Air-to-Air Missiles: Extends range for engaging adversary targets.
- Full Mission Simulators for Tejas: Strengthens pilot training safely and cost-effectively.
- SPICE-1000 Long-Range Guidance Kits: Enhances long-range precision strike capabilities.
