Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has been awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award, for his mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

- President Droupadi Murmu approved gallantry awards to 69 Armed Forces personnel.
- These include:
- 3 Kirti Chakras
- 13 Shaurya Chakras (1 posthumous)
- 1 Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry)
- 44 Sena Medals (Gallantry) (5 posthumous)
- 6 Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry)
- 2 Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry)
Notable Awardees
- Group Captain Shukla's mission to the ISS was part of the Axiom-4 mission in June last year.
- Kirti Chakra Recipients:
- IAF officer and astronaut Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair
- Major Arshdeep Singh of 1 Assam Rifles
- Naib Subedar Doleshwar Subba of 2 Para (SF)
- Major Singh showed exceptional leadership during a mission on May 14, 2025, along the Indo-Myanmar Border.
- Naib Subedar Subba displayed conspicuous gallantry in a counter-terror operation in Kishtwar.
Shaurya Chakra Recipients
- Ten Army personnel and two women officers of the Navy have been awarded.
- The Navy officers include:
- Lieutenant Commander Dilna K
- Lieutenant Commander Roopa A
- Lieutenant Commander Dilna K was selected for the Navika Sagar Parikrama II, a pioneering circumnavigation voyage.
