Role of AI in Gender empowerment
- Healthcare including menstrual health: AI can improve patient outcomes through faster, more accurate diagnostics especially for women.
- E.g., Smart Kojin system uses natural language processing (NLP) to deliver confidential, judgement-free menstrual health information through chat.
- Prevention of gender-based violence: AI can bridge critical gaps in legal access, enabling safer, informed, and financially realistic pre-litigation decisions.
- E.g., NyayaSakhi-SWATI empowers domestic violence survivors by providing AI-driven estimates of statutory reliefs and case durations.
- Access to justice and legal services: AI can empower marginalized women by translating digital awareness into actionable safety.
- E.g., YASHODA AI equips them to identify AI-driven harms, practice digital hygiene, and access legal remedies.
- Education and skills development: AI can transform traditional education, actively challenge entrenched gender stereotypes, and democratize access to knowledge.
- E.g., AtenIA provides interactive, personalized mentorship by enabling young girls to converse with STEM role models.
- Women’s Safety: AI system can accelerate institutional responses and restores women's confidence in public spaces.
- E.g., NariRaksha transforms urban women's safety by utilizing geospatial analytics, computer vision, and NLP to proactively detect risks.
