Technology Transfer by IN-SPACe and ISRO

The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) facilitated the transfer of ten cutting-edge technologies developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to six Indian industries. This initiative targets the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the space sector.

Objectives

  • Empower private players to access ISRO's space-related technologies for commercial use in various sectors.
  • Enhance industry participation and indigenization.
  • Reduce reliance on foreign technologies for satellite launch, ground station infrastructure, and geospatial applications.

Technologies Transferred

  • Advanced Inertial Sensors:
    • Laser Gyroscope and Ceramic Servo Accelerometer developed by ISRO’s Inertial Systems Unit.
  • Ground Station Operations Technologies:
    • S/X/Ka tri-band dual circular polarised monopulse feed.
    • Tri-axis antenna control servo system.
    • Ku/C/L and S Band Cassegrain feed.
  • Geospatial Models:
    • Pest forewarning and semi-physical crop yield estimation models.
  • Bathymetry System:
    • Compact, multi-parameter, portable system for UAV-based water resource monitoring.
  • Ceramic-Based Flame-Proof Coating Technology:
    • Originally for launch vehicle applications, now for wider industrial use.

This transfer marks a pivotal step toward building indigenous capabilities in India, with IN-SPACe, ISRO, and NSIL providing comprehensive support for successful technology absorption.
