According to the Carbon Brief Report released by Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) India sees no growth in power sector CO2 emissions as clean energy rises.

- Power-sector carbon dioxide emissions remained flat from the first half of 2024 to the first half of 2026.
- Coal-fired power generation recorded zero growth for the first time in over 50 years, despite rising power demand.
