Launched in 2023, the scheme has achieved the milestone of registering thirty lakh beneficiaries under it.
About PM Vishwakarma Scheme

- Central Sector Scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
- Objective: To provide end-to-end support to traditional artisans and craftspeople engaged in eighteen identified trades.
- Focuses on recognition, skill upgradation, modern tools, collateral-free credit, digital transaction incentives and market linkage.
- It also enables them to enhance their productivity, income and entrepreneurial potential.
- Target Beneficiaries: Artisans and craftspeople engaged in the 18 specified traditional trades.
- Eligibility
- Artisan/craftsperson engaged in one of the 18 traditional trades on a self-employment basis in the unorganised sector.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Should not have availed similar credit-based schemes (e.g., PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra) in the past 5 years (with some exceptions for fully repaid loans).
- Only one member per family (husband, wife and unmarried children) can avail benefits.
- Government employees and their family members are ineligible.
- Incentive for Digital Transaction: An amount of Re. 1 per digital transaction, upto maximum 100 transactions monthly will be credited to the beneficiary’s account for each digital pay-out or receipt.
